Oh hello there. Welcome! Pull up a chair and settle in. I feel the wind rising out of the west. All day the grey wash of clouds has been spitting rain. It looks as though it might really begin to open up now. I’d love to pour you a hot cup of tea and sit and have a chat.

Or will you have coffee?

Let me just throw another log on the fire and put the kettle on. I hope you’ll stay awhile. The cat is waiting for a lap to curl himself upon.

For a long while I’ve been contemplating creating a space here that is a bit more personal. A place to talk about art and the creative life, and about the other things that make up those spaces between. I’m hoping that over time, it feels like a space that folks can settle into and wander around in for a spell, a place a bit different from that jarring mania of the newsfeed.

I also hope that it is a place that people feel free to converse in. I’ve enabled the comments and I welcome you to introduce yourself and share your thoughts on these entries.

I am going to try my best to not be a perfectionist about what I post, and humbly let the typos, misspellings and poor punctation fall where it may!
